IAUE Acquires Ultra Modern X-ray Machine

In order to meet the growing demand for radiological investigations by staff and students, the Administration of the university has acquired an ultra modern x-ray machine to enhance efficient service delivery to both the university community and the public.

Commissioning the equipment, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the university, His Royal Majesty, King Aaron Miller Ikuru commended the university Administration for the judicious use of the finances of the institution noting that the new machine would be beneficial to the university community and the public. He urged the medical personnel who would operate it to be diligent so that the purpose for buying it would be achieved.

He urged the staff to unite and work for the development of the institution, while assuring that the Governing Council would work hard to attract Government support to the university.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele who was elated with the development, disclosed that the Health Centre was one of his major areas of achieving greatness for the university.

He enumerated the gains of having a well equipped health facility in the over all well-being of staff and students.

The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed his commitment to upgrade the Health Centre through the purchase of modern medical equipment and employment of qualified personnel when State Government gives the nod, and commended the Pro-Chancellor for approving the purchase of the x-ray machine.

Meanwhile, the Acting Registrar, Mrs Hope Keaniabarido Kue-Ikoro, has lauded the visionary leadership of the Vice-Chancellor. She also commended the Pro-Chancellor for his support to the infrastructural upgrade in the university, while urging members of staff to be diligent in their duties.

The Acting Director of Health Services, Dr Precious Gbenoel, disclosed that the centre is targeting to become the best health centre among the tertiary institutions in the state.

She noted that the machine will curb the practice where students and staff go to other health institutions for radiological investigations and added that the machine is of international standard.

The Acting Director of Health Services pointed out that the health centre has become the choice destination for many residents around the university since there is no standard hospital in the area and explained that the machine is capable of doing a complete investigation of the body.

She also disclosed that the upgrade of the surgery theatre with modern equipment was to meet international best practices.
